Mobile phone connectors are dominated by 0.4mm. In terms of height, connectors with 0.4/0.5mm foot pitch are dominated by 1.5mm height. Recently, 0.4mm foot pitch connectors have turned to 0.9mm height, while connectors with 0.4mm foot pitch height of 0.8mm will soon grow to 0.4mm or even smaller this year.
In terms of FPC connectors, the demand for connectors with 0.5mm and 0.3mm foot pitch has doubled. Driven by mobile phones, DSC, DVC, PDA and other small products, 0.25mm and 0.2mm pitch connectors have been developed and produced, and the strong demand for 0.9mm and 0.85mm height connectors has gradually become the mainstream of the market.
At present, the development trend of ultra thin coaxial connector is mainly based on 0.4mm foot pitch, while SMK has developed a connector only 1.4mm high. Due to the extensive use of the camera function on mobile phones in recent years, the connection of the base plate and the LCD part is more complex than that of folding mobile phones, and the demand for coaxial connectors is expected.
With the miniaturization of mobile phones and other portable products, the mainstream of FPC/FFC connector products has transited to 0.3mm spacing, and suppliers have turned to this field.
